Tree Removals
First, we tackled the most pressing hazards:
- 3x Dead Douglas Firs (front by the water)
- We removed them down to low stumps.
- Our team chipped branches, hauled away wood, and raked small debris to leave the space clean.
Next, we addressed smaller trees that were crowding the property:
- 10x Small-Diameter Douglas Firs (front left corner)
- We took them down to low stumps for safety and improved land use.
- Once again, we chipped branches, hauled wood, and raked debris.
By removing these trees, we immediately reduced hazards and created more open space, which improved both safety and usability.
Pruning Services
After finishing removals, we shifted our attention to tree health and view improvement.
- 14x Evergreens (front by the water)
- We pruned the lower 10–20% of limbs to create a balanced, uniform look.
- This pruning enhanced the waterfront view, improved clearance, and supported growth management.
- We also chipped branches and raked debris to maintain a tidy finish.
Then, we carefully managed the cliffside trees:
- 4x Madrone (on the cliffside)
- We pruned these trees down to cliff height.
- This work reduced the risk of limb failure and improved long-term growth stability.
- We left the debris on the hillside to help stabilize the slope.
By moving smoothly from one task to the next, our team ensured that each area of the property received the attention it needed.
Forestry Mulching
Once the pruning was complete, we focused on clearing brush with our forestry mulcher.
- We mulched an 80’ by 100’ area in the front by the water.
- The mulcher handled saplings and brush up to 2” in diameter, which cleared space quickly and effectively.
- For safety, we required the homeowner to stay at least 150 feet away during operations due to flying debris.
As a result, the property became more open, functional, and visually appealing.
Stump Grinding
After mulching, we turned our attention to the stumps.
- We ground 30x madrone stumps up to 6 inches below grade.
- The resulting mulch was neatly left on-site, enriching the soil naturally.
- We avoided damaging fences, hardscape features, and underground utilities by carefully maneuvering the grinder.
- For safety, we required a 50-foot buffer during stump grinding.
Through this process, we eliminated trip hazards and created a smoother landscape.
Log Management
Finally, we used our equipment to move logs between 1”–6” in diameter. We stacked them into 3–5 organized piles along the cliff edge, forming a natural barrier. In addition, we chipped branches and left wood chips in neat piles for later use.
Results
By the end of the day, the homeowner’s property looked completely transformed. We:
- Removed hazardous trees safely.
- Pruned evergreens for better views and clearance.
- Managed cliffside madrones to reduce risks.
- Mulched thick brush to reclaim land.
